Lecture notes for a course. As described in the New School course catalog, this is the second part of a three-part course on Plato’s Laws. Each to be given in the Spring of successive years. We plan to cover Books IV-VIII, the heart of the legislative program. The primary question for us is: What does a philosopher, even a political philosopher, have to do with such things?
