Description
Lecture notes for a course. As described in the New School course catalog, this course looks at the fragments of Parmenides's poem as well as at Plato's Parmenides. It tries to come to grips with this first formulation of the problem od being and Plato's representation of Socrates' youthful way out of the problem. This later project entails an examination of Plato's Sophist, where the old Socrates listens to an ex-Parmenidean.
