Description
The purpose of my thesis is to study new possible storytelling methods in a digital interface. One of the storytelling methods that I considered for my thesis topic was circular storytelling. This storytelling method has not been sufficiently developed, although it can exist in a digital interface more effectively than in analog media. Therefore, I decided to develop a digital interface format for circular storytelling. My main issues for creating a circular story in a digital interface were two-fold: how do I treat direction of the concept in a circular story and the relationships between circular stories in one interface. Firstly, circular storytelling has great potential based on its possible directions in a digital interface. Some circular stories are read in one direction and some circular stories can be read in two directions: forward and backward. Secondly, digital media, because it is spatial and interactive, can contain more than one circular story. The relationships between the stories determine the structure and navigation of circular interface.
