Exhibition curated by Thalia Vrachopoulos and students in the Parsons School of Design spring 2005 course, Korean Contemporary Art. After visiting the studios of artists working in New York who were born in South Korea, the curators selected eight artists whose work and short biographies are reproduced in the catalog. The artists include Chonggon Byun, Sungho Choi, Ran Hwang, Joohyun Kang, Po Kim, Choongsup Lim, Jungwook Grace Rim, and Jintaek Yoo. Student curators include: Hannah Birchenough, Peter Cho, Hae Young Jang, Timothy Joo, Seo Jung, Jung, Min-Suk Kang, Na-Kyoung Kang, Ha Kim, Hye-Ran Kim, JaeYeop Kim, JooYeon Kim, Ara Koh, Minsun Ku, Hee Lee, Soo Lee, Jennifer Lin, Ji-Ae Moon, Elizabeth Rho, Yun-Ho Seo, Eun Sohn, Youngji Song, Kareem Wallace, Tracy Whang, Henry Wong, and Se Yoon. Exhibition sponsors are Korean Cultural Service NY, New School University/Parsons School of Design, Ahl Foundation Inc., and TENRI Cultural Institute of New York. An exhibition featuring these artists titled, Acculturation in Diaspora, was held at the Tenri Cultural Institute in 2005, curated by Vrachopoulos.
