This audio recording is of the second part of the second lecture in a five lecture series given at The New School by anthropologist Margaret Mead on the cultural patterning of human development. Mead responds to questions from the audience written on cards, the topics of which include: cultural gender differences related to childbirth, postpartum care in the United States, the role of childless couples, the differences between psychology and anthropology, homosexuality, the importance of environmental factors in child development, instinctive behavior, nursing, and the ethics of cultural noninterference by anthropologists.
