This audio recording is of the second part of the first lecture in a five lecture series given at The New School by anthropologist Margaret Mead on the cultural patterning of human development. Mead concludes her lecture at 2:11, and after a short break, responds at 10:20 to questions from the audience that have been written on cards. The topics of questions include: genetic change within populations, the percentage of the brain that humans use, gender inequality across societies, the definition of cultural background, individual personality changes over time, and the process of learning languages.
