Description
A voice at the beginning of the recording indicates that this is a "preparation for the fall opening of the Human Relations Center, 1970." The recording breaks off and restarts at minute 4:19. The audio on the recording is very poor, although it improves around minute 7:00. This section of the recording ends at minute 53:28, restarting at minute 56:36 with New School President John Everett speaking, who remarks, "I trust that our year will not end as it did last year." Everett continues to offer welcome remarks, announcing upcoming lectures, including Anthony Burgess and Herbert Marcuse, who has been "creating a bit of trouble out on the West coast as far as the student philosophy is concerned," and describing New School resources available to Human Relations Center students.
