One of unique features of America's first building for higher adult education, now being effected by the NEW SCHOOL FOR SOCIAL RESEARCH, at 66-72 West Twelfth Street New York, is this egg-shaped auditorium designed by internationally famous architect, Joseph Urban. Only decorative features are elliptical bands of plaster, forming the ceiling, and the lighting effects, on stage, coming from lights concealed between plaster bands on ceiling. Dr. Alvin Johnson is the Director of the New School. (text)
