Eleanor Roosevelt stands at a luncheon. The seated woman on the right (to Roosevelt's left) is Edith Sommerich, a longtime member and leader of the New School Associates. Roosevelt was a frequent speaker at The New School, and discussed it frequently in her column, "My Day." This photograph may have been taken at the Associates-sponsored event, "Are Women Meeting the Challenge of Today?"
