Contents of the New School for Social Research's dean's office file documenting the planning of the Negro Writer's Vision of America conference, held at The New School and co-sponsored by the Harlem Writers Guild. Includes tentative conference outlines, including prospective speakers, as well as funding requests sent to the Field Foundation and the Phelps-Stokes Fund. A conference brochure and the text of Dean Allen Austill's welcome remarks, while included in the file, are cataloged separately. The second page of the "Tentative Outline" document is missing from the file and has not been unintentionally ommited.
