The New School Archives staff believes this recording was made in a lecture associated with the course, The Philosophy of Nietzsche, taught in Spring 1988 at the New School for Social Research. The course catalog describes the course content as, "Nietzsche's transcendentalism and his critique of knowledge; tragic truth; nihilism and the transvaluation of all values; the phenomenology of the will to power; the destruction of teleology and the critique of morality; the eternal recurrence of the same; radical enlightenment and liberation as the task for thinking. The lectures draw on all of Nietzsche's publications."
