Window display from the Neiman Marcus department store in Dallas, Texas, featuring a mannequin wearing a summer ensemble by Traina-Norell. The ensemble includes what appears to be a belted dress with a pleated skirt that extends past the knee, worn with a hip-length dark jacket with a Peter Pan collar and contrasting border. The mannequin also wears sunglasses, jewelry, and dark pumps while holding a large sunhat. As indicated on the back, the display was designed by Guy Malloy, who was the director of display for Neiman Marcus at the time. Malloy included an oversized letter from Anthony Traina to Mr. Stanley Marcus dated February 18, 1948 that describes an ensemble that he believes would be perfect for the "smart Dallas woman" (presumably the one found in this window display). There also appears to be some sort of cosmetic kit on the floor. This photograph was originally part of a larger scrapbook and can now be found in Box OSx-3, Folder 2.
