In this video interview with Arien Mack, Alfred and Monette Marrow Professor of Psychology at the New School for Social Research (formerly, Graduate Faculty), Professor Mack speaks to Michael Schober, then dean of the New School for Social Research, describing her experience as a longtime faculty member and former chair of the Psychology Department, and editor of the journal, Social Research (1970 to the present), among other roles. Professor Mack discusses the evolution of the Graduate Faculty from the 1960s through 2008, describes her early experiences as one of only three women on the Graduate Faculty and her interactions with colleagues, including some early members of the University in Exile, as well as later faculty, including Hannah Arendt, Jerome Bruner, Leon Festinger, Joseph Greenbaum, Robert Heilbroner, and Mary Henle. The interview is unedited and may have been conducted for use in a film about the University in Exile.
