In 1977, Giuseppe Zambonini founded the Open Atelier of Design (initially OADA, the Open Atelier of Design and Architecture). Originally located at 11 Worth Street, the atelier attempted to strike a balance between practice/application and theory/history. The school offered day and evening classes, as well as opportunities for students to work professionally.
A wide ranging group of prominent contemporary architects, designers, and visual artists spoke at the atelier's regularly-held lecture series. Recordings of many of these lectures, originally captured on audio cassette, are presented here.
